In Japan, if you join a matchmaking agency for singles, the typical expectation is that you’ll get engaged after dating for about three months.

Matchmakers there really push for couples to make a decision within that time frame. If you’re living abroad and hoping to marry a Japanese woman, you might think, “Three months? Is that even possible?” But is it really such a long shot? Here’s the recent experience of one of our male members who proves that amazing things can happen when your heart is in alignment.

A couple recently announced that they’re now exclusive. The gentleman first reached out to TJM in early August. He quickly scheduled a complimentary consultation and completed his profile. By mid-August, we introduced him to a female member in Japan who was also interested in meeting him. He promptly upgraded to a full membership and started actively using our services.

His initial introduction went well, and he and the woman decided to keep in touch after their Zoom call. Following this, he was matched with a Japanese woman living in the US through TJM and had a video call with her.

Given that the woman lived within a reasonable distance from the man in the U.S., they were able to hold two in-person meetings locally. He was also introduced to two other Japanese women living in the US, but he declined very quickly.

Afterwards, in early September, the man visited Japan. He met in person with the woman he had been interacting with on Zoom and also had a face-to-face meeting with another woman residing in Japan.

Upon his return, he expressed a desire to deepen his connection with one of the women he had met in Japan. The woman, recognizing his sincerity, agreed to enter into an exclusive relationship with him.

The man has decided to focus on one woman and has chosen not to pursue relationships with the others.

And then, what happened after that?

Just last week, this gentleman asked us if he could send a promise ring to her by mail. Wow, what a quick decision! Congrats!

He’s thinking about coming back to Japan over the New Year holiday because he’s considering proposing to the woman he’s dating.

My answer concerning the promise ring is as follows. ”It would be more appropriate to present such a precious ring in person rather than sending it by mail. It would be a terrible experience if the ring were to be lost before reaching her. Selecting a ring together would create a cherished memory for both of you.”

The gentleman agreed and stated that he would choose a ring with her during his next visit to Japan.

From signing up with TJM to deciding to go exclusive with a woman and planning his next trip to Japan to give her a promise ring, it only took two and a half months.

A total of five women were introduced to him during this period: three living in the US and two living in Japan.

He found his soulmate in just three months!
