As you can see on the IBJ website, matchmaking services are widely recognized in Japan. For many Japanese people, choosing a marriage partner is a significant life decision. Consequently, there is a strong demand for matchmaking agencies among those seeking partners from a similar or higher social class.

As of December 2024, IBJ has a network of over 4,000 affiliated matchmakers, serving a membership base of more than 90,000 single men and women across its partner matchmaking agencies. These figures underscore the significant demand for matchmaking services in Japan, particularly among individuals seeking personalized guidance from professional matchmakers.

IBJ has successfully established a system that caters to this demand, providing tailored matchmaking solutions to its members.

We are currently conducting a pilot program, offering a select group of TJM members the opportunity to experience IBJ’s matchmaking services. As all information on the IBJ platform is provided in Japanese, participation is limited to members who can understand Japanese.

We are also exploring the feasibility of using Google Translate to assess the platform’s accessibility for our members. Additionally, we are in the process of translating select documents and information into English.
