Introduction:

For those of you preparing for marriage, especially if you’re considering marriage with a Japanese woman, the prenuptial agreement is an important topic to explore. This is because the concept of a prenuptial agreement is not widely known among Japanese women. In fact, when my husband first broached the subject of a prenuptial agreement with me 20 years ago, I was so shocked that I burst into tears, thinking, “How can you talk about divorce arrangements before we’re even married!”

Having been involved in the operation of marriage consultation services for many years, I now understand that in Western societies, the exchange of prenuptial agreements is not just something that happens to Hollywood stars; it’s a perfectly common practice.

Furthermore, we believe it’s crucial to raise awareness that prenuptial agreements are not solely for protecting the assets of men; they are also a safeguard for Japanese women to protect their own valuable assets. With this in mind, we have decided to hold a workshop specifically for Japanese women.
We hope that this opportunity will provide Japanese women with the knowledge and understanding of prenuptial agreements.

Workshop Overview

In this workshop, we will invite a lawyer with experience in drafting and guiding clients in premarital agreements to teach us the basics of prenups, Prenup 101, and the fundamental knowledge surrounding prenuptial agreements.

By having the lawyer answer questions from the women, we, as matchmakers, can gain a better understanding of what our female clients want to know. This will allow us to provide more effective follow-up support. It is important to note that the information is just general guidance and cannot be relied up as specific advice to your situation as Mr. Steck is not able to represent you as your attorney.

イントロダクション

結婚を控えたみなさま、特に日本人女性との結婚を考えている方にとって、プリナプチュアルアグリーメント（婚前契約書）は重要なテーマの一つです。何故なら、日本人女性は（婚前契約書）は、あまり知られていないからです。実際、わたしが主人と結婚した20年前に、主人から「PRENUPTUAL AGREEMENT」に関して打診されたとき、「結婚する前に離婚の取り決めをするなんて考えられない！」と号泣しました。

結婚相談所の運営に長くだずさわって、欧米社会では婚前契約書が取り交わされることは、ハリウッドスターだけの話ではなく、ごく当たり前に行われていることを今では理解しています。

そして、婚前契約書は、男性の資産を守るだけのものではなく、日本人女性にとっても自分の大切な資産を守るための取り決めであるということを広く知ってもらいたいと考え、日本人女性を対象とした勉強会を開催することになりました。

この機会に、婚前契約書についてを、日本人女性に学んでいただき知識として得ていただければと思います。

今回の勉強会では、プリナプチュアルアグリーメントに詳しい弁護士の先生を招いて、プレナップ101、プリナプチュアルアグリーメントの基礎知識についてを学びます。

弁護士さんには、女性からの質問に答えていただくことで、女性たちがどのような事を知りたいか？をわたしたち仲人も理解できれば、後からフォローアップができます。
