Accelerate Your International Dating Success: What Is the “Tokyo Event Magic” That Brings Japanese Women and Foreign Men Together?

Today, I’m delighted to share the event report from our November 8th & 9th, 2025 Tokyo International Matchmaking Event.

If you’re looking to expand your opportunities to meet high-quality Japanese women—or if you’re considering starting your international matchmaking journey—this recap will help you understand what to expect at our future events.

A Weekend Where “Tokyo Event Magic” Happened

Over our two-day event, a remarkable number of Japanese single women traveled to Tokyo from all over Japan.
Participating regions included: Kyushu, Shikoku, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo, and surrounding Kanto areas.

Their willingness to travel long distances shows just how serious our Japanese female members are about marriage and meeting sincere foreign partners.

Men Joined from Multiple U.S. Regions and Japan

Male participants came not only from TJM’s membership, but also from:

• A matchmaking agency in Arizona
• A matchmaking agency in San Francisco
• Foreign men currently living in Japan

Due to venue capacity limits, we unfortunately could not accommodate all men who wished to join this time. If you were unable to attend, we sincerely hope you will join us at our next event.

Event Structure and Attendance

The two-day event consisted of three sessions:

• Event 1 (Nov. 8): 23 men × 23 women
• Event 2 (Nov. 8): 24 men × 24 women
• Event 3 (Nov. 9): 22 men × 22 women

Events 1 and 3 followed a speed-dating format, while Event 2 was a casual group mixer, designed to help men meet many women efficiently and comfortably.

Because the exchange of contact information was allowed at any time, many participants were able to continue communication immediately after the event.

Many of our male guests came prepared with business cards, message cards, and small gifts—something deeply appreciated by Japanese women and often a helpful ice-breaker.

Official Match Results from the Tokyo Event

At the end of each speed-dating round, each male participant could list up to three women they were interested in.

Our matchmaking office then exchanged contact information for mutual matches.

Official match results were as follows:

• Event 1: 15 couples
• Event 2: 11 couples
• Event 3: 16 couples

Because contact exchange was voluntary and unrestricted, we believe there were many additional matches that were not included in the official tally.

Some men and women went out for second gatherings the same night, and others arranged dates for the following day—clear signs of how proactive Japanese women were during this event.

Post-Event Matchmaking Support

Our staff manually reviewed every matching card with great care. We provided follow-up support even in cases such as:

• A woman selected a man, but the man did not select her
• A man selected a woman, but the woman did not select him

Through skilled intervention by our matchmakers, several of these cases still progressed into real connections.
We also introduced women who had not attended the event, resulting in additional successful dates afterward.
This allowed several matches to progress smoothly even after the event ended.

Real Success Stories That Started in Tokyo

Several couples have already begun moving forward because of our event. Here are some real examples:
A man traveled by bullet train multiple times to visit a woman in her hometown

One woman decided to visit the U.S. in December to meet the man she connected with
(I may also meet them in the U.S. depending on the timing!)

Another woman scheduled a follow-up meeting for January, and the man is planning another trip to Japan

One couple began dating after a new introduction following the event

International matchmaking often accelerates quickly once the right connection is made. This event proved once again that “when a match moves, it moves fast.”

The Team Behind the Tokyo Event Success
The event was successfully executed thanks to:

• Ai, who flew in from Australia and conducted interviews for our male clients
• Tomomi, a TJM former client who recently got married and will soon begin her life in the U.S.

Their dedication and long hours of careful match-data processing were essential to making this event a success.

We are planning the next Tokyo event for spring, during Japan’s cherry blossom season—one of the most beautiful and romantic times of the year.
