TJM Private Introductions / Integrated IBJ & TJM Matchmaking Access
TJM is a boutique matchmaking agency specializing in international marriage, built on a strong and carefully cultivated global network.
We introduce our members through two complementary channels: TJM’s own international-minded member database, and the extensive network of IBJ (Japan Marriage Agency Federation), which includes approximately 4,000 professional matchmakers and access to a database of around 100,000 single members across Japan.
Women within the TJM network are intentional about building a life beyond borders. Many are fluent in English, have lived or studied abroad, and are genuinely comfortable navigating different cultures. They are not simply “open to foreigners” — they are sincerely seeking an international marriage and a globally oriented partnership.
IBJ is the largest marriage agency federation in Japan, with a powerful nationwide presence. Within its network are many women who are curious about life overseas and open to building a cross-cultural relationship.
By combining one of Japan’s largest domestic matchmaking infrastructures with TJM’s specialized expertise in international marriage, we offer our members both scale and depth. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities to meet a wide range of high-quality, trustworthy singles — delivered with a global standard of care and professionalism.

You can subscribe to TJM’s newsletter for free.
Participation in TJM-hosted workshops and events is prioritized for paid members, but if there are available seats, we can offer them to you at the general admission price.
Online Free Consultation: Free of Charge
You can book your first one-on-one session with a TJM matchmaker for free.
The online free consultation will cover information about TJM’s services and how our process works.
Personal dating and relationship coaching sessions are available for a fee.
Profile Registration: $400 / one year
We will create your profile and keep it in our system for one year.
Your profile will be sent to potential matches.
You will also receive profiles of potential matches.
Please note: Full membership registration is required to arrange meetings.
Profile registration is valid for one year. Renewal after one year is available at the same fee.

IBJ Course: Optional Add-On Service
Traditional Japanese Matchmaker (TJM) is an official member agency of IBJ (Japan Marriage Consulting Federation). IBJ is Japan’s largest marriage agency network, operated by a publicly listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market. It consists of approximately 4,000 affiliated matchmaking agencies and has around 90,000 registered single men and women. Only those who are seriously seeking marriage register with IBJ, ensuring a safe and trustworthy system for finding a partner.
As an IBJ member agency, TJM offers its clients access not only to TJM’s unique international matchmaking network but also to IBJ’s extensive database, the largest in Japan. This greatly increases the chances of finding an ideal partner both domestically and internationally. (The IBJ Course is available as an additional service for TJM members.)
Through IBJ, members receive comprehensive services including profile registration, arranged meetings coordinated by matchmakers, dating support, and guidance through to marriage. TJM provides thorough assistance with creating your profile and learning how to use the IBJ system, so even those new to the process can feel confident.
As professional matchmakers who understand Japanese culture and international matchmaking, TJM utilizes the strength of being an IBJ member agency to support you in meeting your ideal Japanese partner and achieving a happy marriage.

Introductions & Meeting Scheduling

There is no introduction fee when we introduce female members from TJM.

When introducing female members from IBJ, an introduction fee will be charged for each meeting.

If you cancel a scheduled meeting at the last minute, a penalty fee will be charged. (Please refer to the meeting arrangement details for more information.)
Dating & Relationship Coaching Session
- Regular support via email is included in the service.
- Brief phone support of up to 10 minutes is also included.
- Matchmaker consultations exceeding 10 minutes are available for an additional fee.
Success Fee
As of February 1, 2025, the success fee is $2,000. Whether your marriage is arranged through TJM or IBJ, the success fee will be charged only once (there will be no duplicate charges).
The definition of “success” is stated in the contract.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fees
Can I pay in installments?
We do not offer installment payment plans for TJM membership fees. If you wish to pay in installments, please check directly with your credit card company to see if they offer installment or revolving payment options.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, TJM membership fees can be paid by credit card via PayPal. Please note that since TJM is a U.S.-based company, some Japanese credit cards may not be accepted. In such cases, we also accept payments via bank transfer or Wise.
Is there a cooling-off period?
Please note that profile registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. We ask that you apply only after you are fully committed to starting your international matchmaking journey.
For Full Membership, we offer a three-day cooling-off period after payment to ensure your peace of mind. Please note that refunds are not available after three days have passed.
